Development

During the next few months, the second car was finally finished and both cars were raced, with different drivers, of all kind of abilities, and their feedback was used to further develop the car and unlock its potential.

Nathan Ralls was given the second car to race during the winter season, we had 3 big meetings where we thought it was important to get a result: Players – The Rematch at Worksop, Petit RC 2010 at Maritime Raceway and Euro Indoor Race at what is now Black Country Arena in Charleroi, Belgium.

At the Players, we managed to get a decent setup, but a lack of running on the surface (due to the race being quite early in the season) meant we didn’t know the car that well, still Nathan managed to finish 9th which was a decent result.

At the Petit, Nathan was in the B final until the 4th round, but failed to improve in the last round and dropped in the C. Given the fact that a setup gamble in round 3 made the car undriveable, he had qualified with his round 2 time so a C final wasn’t such a bad result. Ultimately the lack of running on that type of track and surface was a big handicap.

It was at the EIR that things finally came together. In fact, we had a full day of testing on the friday to get a good setup, but the track being laid with astroturf meant that we already had a very good base setup and so we concentrated on details and doing as many laps as we could. Nathan TQ and won the meeting without being really challenged.

In fact that race was the one that definately decided me on making a small batch of cars for a selected few to be able to enjoy driving this car.In fact it was during that race that I definately decided me to make a small batch of cars for a selected few to be able to enjoy driving this car. After getting a few quotes from the sub contractors, I ended up choosing to make 30 cars as it was the best ratio between initial investment and a manufacturing price that woud allow me to make the kits affordable.
